Hi everyone, I'm new here and new to Daz3d and Blender. I want to make my own dungeon furniture like a whipping frame or a rack, but I'm not sure what software or techniques are the best. A whipping frame or rack is a simple mechanical assembly, so my question is would make those things in blender and import them in to Daz, or use software like Fusion 360 and import it into Daz. If using Fusion 360 would the mechanical assemblies work in Daz, or am I over thinking this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've never used Fusion 360 but as long as it supports the same formats as Daz Studio (like OBJ or FBX) the models should import ok. If they have moving parts, you will probably have to rig them once they're in DS.

Personally I like Blender. If you decide to go that route, Blender Guru's donut tutorial on Youtube teaches most of the basics of modeling. It doesn't cover rigging, but there are plenty of tutorials that do.

Bottom line - importing simple furniture and props into DS is pretty straightforward, depending on how complex the model is. Good luck!

Thanks. I think I just need to do some more research.
