Hi. I had bought the cock o rama bu laudanum but all i keep getting are grey boxes.

Daz says there are material missing. I went back and redownloaded the rama but i get the same messages.

And I read through the manual and am confused as to why I keep getting grey boxes. I am sorry if i am missing something obvious Im new to all of this. If anyone can help it would be greatly appericated.

Thank you

Grey boxes are usually caused by the mesh items not being in the right place or missing entirely. My guess would be that somewhere or somehow where the data files were installed are not where they are supposed to be. I would suggest loading the item and paying attention to the path the error says the item should be at, follow it and keep an eye for discrepancies between where it says they should be and where they were installed. (Depending on some factors it could be something as small of a difference between where it should be/is installed as a simple space or lack of one)

Just out of curiosity did you use Windows .zip program to unzip the files?

I see what you did incorrectly, you put the entire zip under the anatomy folder rather dragging the files into the base directory so it is adding additional folders in the path, and throwing off where the files are compared to where the .duf files are looking

Ideally you will want to install the contents to C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/ or something similar (There have been a few different names for the main content folder over the years so there is some difference to default locations, example my library is set up by the old system so my base folder is Content, for others it can be My Library, or My DAZ 3D Library)

The .zip question was due to some issues I have seen using the Windows built in zip extraction tool occasionally adding or removing spaces as it unzips files. Part of why I use 7zip personally.

I would just open the folders till you get to the folder that contains data, runtime, props, etc then select all the folders and drag them into your My Daz 3d library folder. If after that you still have a problem then I would check to see if there might be discrepancies in the path names and the actual files as installed, but putting the data and runtime folders in the My Daz 3d library should fix the paths and everything should load fine. Most of the renaming/spacing issues I've heard of was either due to the windows zip extractor,(In at least one case which I personally tested it was adding a space on the file after the extension, but that was enough to throw off the paths in Daz Studio) or there was a version of DIM that was causing some path issues as well. You can try the other program if you want, I actually prefer 7zip over the other extraction programs I have used.
