Shado, I think California may have had Covid-19 much earlier than anyone thinks and CA had some heard immunity built up before President Trump shut down all travel from China the end of January..  I have several friends from CA that were sick in December and early January who swear they caught the flu after getting a flu shot.  Almost all of them seemed to have some contact with Asia (3 have flight attendants in he family on Asia routes, One is a pilot on an Asia route, And two visited family in China but not in Woohan)  Most were very mild but one was pretty sick but until they do antibody testing on major populations to see if there is a herd immunity building up we won;t know,  Plus they now know there are a lot more people running around with this thing that have no symptoms at all so we may never know who had it and who didn't until they can do massive antibody testing on a national scale (maybe add an antibody est to everyone's normal blood work, Quest and other fluid testing labs would love it, at $5.00 a test they would make a fortune).

I'm curious how things will be when they lift the stay at home rules here.  I'm sure people will be a little more wary, but I think I'll be nervous to go to the movies or eat in close proximity.  If I see or hear somebody cough I'll probably give a sideways look.  Hate how these kind of things make a psychological impact.  I remember when my kids were little and we went through a battle with lice.  I had 5 kids, 4 of them daughters with long hair.  My ex was shit at checking their hair, she'd miss the nits.  After the whole ordeal was over, everytime my kids touched their head or scratched their head I went through some ptsd and would head check them on the spot, right in the middle of store isle, they would be all "daaaaad pleease"...  Took about a year to come down from that.  So now, this corona is likely to have some lasting effects.  I don't understand how they think people will just be able to go back to work and things be normal and not have outbreaks again.  We desperately need a vaccine.

My girlfriend works in a hospital cleaning rooms.  They have a few cases, she's all freaked out and has been hesitant to be intimate with me because she worries about getting it and giving it to me then to my dad whos nearing 80.

And that's how this is affecting me personally.  SUX, but at least it's not like the Contagion movie where people who get it die 100%

For me, I just turned 70.  the wife 71,  she had triple bypass 6 years ago and I had asthma as a child and it has come back to ail me from time to time, I'm on a CPAP machine to halt my snoring and that works.

San Diego county has about 2 K that are known to be infected   about half that in the hospital and 40 dead..  for a city that is on the top 10 list for populations  of 1.4 Million those numbers seem rather small but important none the less.

Now I have a certain sinus problem that causes me to dry hack all the time, and I know the difference between a dry cough and a congested one as I had Branchitus many times over till I was like 14 . Last time I was out of the house was April 1st and I check my temp 3 times a day and so far I'm between 97.7 and 98.4 which is normal for me.    This shit is scary and I fear giving it to the wife as I do most of the errand running in the house.

But as I said in previous posts, our Governor and even the Mayor of San Diego  Jumped on the bandwagon even before it was a pea thought in trumps tailbone ....as a state and as a city we have been practicing social distancing  2-3 weeks before it was announced in the White house we have housed up our homeless as best we can and if this does flair up, we have a convention center rigged for 2500 people who contract the virus

Stay well and safe everyone and make the most of your Easter
