I am sure there is a simple explanation but I could do with some advice from the wiser heads round here. I don't often use genitalia in my images, but I was experimenting with Troll HD from Dazz and I can't fathom how to make the texture of the body or torse move onto the genitals. I am using their own Gen8M genitals.

Help welcomed, please. I don't seem to have any other male gens, but until now when I have wanted them the Dazz ones have been fine.

I assume that's the "Troll HD for Floyd 8". Unfortunately, that character doesn't come with genital textures. And the genital UV mapping is completely different than the torso mapping, so for characters that don't include genital textures, it's not as simple as just applying the torso texture to the genital figure. You'd need to create a genital texture yourself in an image editor, possibly with the aid of 3feetwolf's "Texture Exchanger For G8M Gens" (I haven't used it, but it looks like that won't create a complete genital texture automatically, but it will give you a partial texture that should line up with the torso, which you can then combine with a genital texture from another character, probably with some manual editing around the edges).

You're need to do two things if you want a really good genital match. You'll need Texture Exchanger for G8M Gens as Evilsteve mentioned. That'll give you a perfect blending match to the hip/groin/anus area of the genitals. At $5 it's a steal. Afterwards you're gonna need a 3D painter to paint a different shaft/balls/glans texture with a coat of the original character's texture. If you don't have a 3D painter, you can use Photoshop or Gimp and then overlay the output from Texture exchanger over a different genital texture and paint and then use the clone brush at a lower opacity to paint a coat of the original Troll texture over the other gens.

Thanks. Not sure I follow this. I used to be able to simply bring up the basic image for a portion of the body (torso, legs, whatever) and play with that, but I can't find image files for these items. Not sure what is meant by 3D painter. I'll have a look at Texture Exchanger.

3D Painter is a type of program that let's you paint directly on the model in a 3D space. Blacksmith3D is the one that I use and is available at rendo. It allows you to paint over the seams between the two different surface materials. So you could put the base genital texture from another figure onto the g8m gens, and then use a clone brush to grab some of the texture from the hip or chest or where and then paint that as a second layer over the base gens. Thus blending the two textures into a more natural looking texture that will blend with the rest of the troll figure.

I'm not sure how badly or how important it is to make a matching genital texture or if you plan to do this often. If you make lots of new texture or clean up old ones, it's a godsend program. If this is a one-off, the cost might outweight the benefit

Strange. Today it has worked without fuss. I will try the exchanger in due course.
