I just bought a character for G8F over at RenderHub and noticed that it said that "Gen Matts where not included".
After the HUGE uproar there a few months back, I assume this to mean that there's no genital matts included.
What do I do? Edit the existing matt in Photoshop and paste in a piece from some other character? I'm sure
someone has a quick-n-easy fix for those of us with no talent.
Thanks a bunch folks!

Hi! Please excuse me if I'm listing things here that you already know:
Gen Maps are only needed if you are working with the original DAZ Anatomical Elements. Grafts such as Golden Palace etc. do not require the maps.
If you are working with DAZ AE: can't you just assign the skin of another model with Gen Maps? I know: a different skin sometimes changes the effect of a model... but it definitely looks better in the desired area than the gray color ;)
If you really want to customize the Gen Map of another model for your model, it will not only be as complicated as you described... but even more complicated ;) The adjustment isn't just about the texture map(s) themselves, but also about the shaders, which you have to adjust accordingly. Personally, I would find that too tricky and time-consuming.
Just get back to me with a little more information (DAZ AE, etc.), OK?

I often go in and use another character's as Pushee mentioned, even if it is not shaded right due to the differences in skin tone. I usually edit them in a photo shop like program to get a better match if needed, but you can get away with the near match in most poses unless you're doing close ups or whatever.
You may have access to materials though through the genesis models, genesis 3, genesis 8, genesis 9 as well depending on what you have purchased along the way (Daz only). Looking into the anatomy selection in the 'all products' area will allow you to specifically look for genitals. You can also select 'Figures' in the 'all products' area and select a specific figure to check out individual characters, and their genitals if they have them.

Hi Pushee-Ri and thanks for the reply. Even though I've been using poser and now Studio since they first came out, I'm still just a dabbler and don't do anything fancy or advanced. I've never tried any add-ons or grafts such as you mentioned but they sound like a simple solution so I'll give the Golden Palace a try. I'm just playing with dolls so this would be fine for me. Thanks a bunch! Baggie.

Once I get my characters set up and modify the look, (skin tone, makeup, etc.) I click on the figure and save as a material preset. I save them all in a folder inside my materials folder for for that genre (G8, Female). That way I can change the look of any similar character in a few seconds with the Iray enabled to quickly get an impression of how the mats will look. It helps get the ideal look quickly.

Just Google 'GenTorso UV for G8F suGeorgeSu'. You should find it in the Free download section of another site.
What this does is remap the Female genital texture to take the Torso texture of G8F.
Load the Gens, highlight the G8F Torso surface, copy and the paste to the Gens surface. If it doesn't look right you will need to manually change the UV layout further down the surface setup.
Note - if you are doing explicit pictures this will not be as good as a dedicated texture as it does not texture the labia etc separately. BUT it will ensure a genital texture to match all your characters.
Note 2 - the same creator has also provided UV layouts for other characters Gens e.g. G8M
This is not the only creator to produce one of these UV layouts but this is probably the easiest one to find.
Would still recommend the third party Gens on sale here every time though, cannot beat products from dedicated people who specialize and support like these guys do. Edited by user Tuesday, January 20, 2026 2:54:07 PM(UTC)
