I've just learned something rather odd. Jack Ketch, whose humorous renders amused so many of us and who disappeared so abruptly, is also the name of a famous English executioner.  As per Wikipedia: "John Ketch (died November 1686), generally known as Jack Ketch, was an infamous English executioner employed by King Charles II."

I have now come to wonder if that was not a coincidence. I suppose we'll never really know.
