Here are the symptoms after loading NGV8 on a character, deleting that character, and loading that character again:
Here are the symptoms when loading NGV8 on a character, and then loading a second copy of that character:
Is this some kind of bug? Do I just need to reload the material on the character? It makes working with multiple characters in a scene a bit awkward.
I recorded the whole procedure here (fast forward the texture generation):

edit: loading a new material does not fix the affected area, the new material gets loaded but the grey areas are still there. Edited by user Tuesday, July 12, 2022 1:08:20 PM(UTC)

So I think the issue is that when loading another character of the same generation, the surface 'Genitalia' is added to that character. I think the issue would be fixed if I could remove the surface, but I don't get that option when right clicking it. Any tips?
Loading a second copy of G8F causes the character to get the 'Genitalia' surface for some reason:
Loading Runyun for some reason there is no issue (No extra 'Genitalia' surface):

Hi, Sorry for the inconvenience. It is a bug of expansion pack. I didn't expect that manipulation of a character's surfaces would be shared by all the characters in the scene. A quick workaround is to apply NGV8 to the character that has the problem via the expansion pack's script as well.

Thanks for the quick reply! The workaround will help in some cases, but for my particular use case I will have issues (see below, loading other genitalia than NGV8 will not remove the gray zone, and I would like to have, for example, twins with different genitalia). Do you think this is something that can be fixed in the future?
By the way, thank you for updating the NGV8 download to include the categories fix. You already provided the fix in the thread I made a while back (https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&m=489736&#post489736) but having it in the download is much appreciated as well.

Hi, I wrote a script to solve this problem. Select the character that has the problem and run it. The script will assign the polyons back to their original surfaces.

Hi again! So there is an issue with using the script- when I load up a character with NGV8, after using the script on a different character in the scene, they load up all messed up like this:
