The subject says it all.

I'm loving the Natural Golden Growler set. Some girls just need a big bush. It loads fine, it renders fine, all of that. However...if I make any changes to it in the strand based hair editor, those changes do NOT save when I save the scene file. Thicker, thinner, shorter hair? Doesn't save. I change the hair orientation with the comb tool? Doesn't save. Any change that I make is gone, regardless of the save. So...how do I do it? How can I save a hair setting with your product? I don't have this issue with other strand based hair products. What do I do?

Step one is load the hair with G8F selected. Next, select the strand-based hair in the scene tab and find the 'fit to' drop down in the parameters tab. That will give you a popup. Click the arrow next to 'Genesis 8 Female'. That will expose everything that is attached to the figure. Select 'Golden Palace Shell'. Hit the 'Accept' button. Now, you probably won't see any change. All vendors for strand-based hair build them differently. So now, go back to the parameters tab. Make sure that the hair is still selected. Tap any of the translate sliders up by one. Doesn't matter which one, X, Y, or Z. Tap it up by one. The hair should snap into place. Now, you don't want it to be moved in any translation, so tap it back down to zero.

Now, go to your Edit tab at the top. You should see two options, 'edit strand-based hair' and 'edit strand-based hair basic'. Pick the first one. This will open a new window. The first thing that you should do is hit the button to update surfaces. After that, click through each of the tabs at the top, such as paint, distribute, etc. Hit all of them. Then hit the 'Accept' button. Congratulations, your hair is now snapped into place, and will follow your figure. It will stay unparented, LEAVE IT THAT WAY! It will behave strangely if you parent it to the figure or the shell. So don't.

That's the basics. There are additional steps that you need to take if you want to modify it and have those changes stay in place, but this mini-tute is all that you need to get the hair to fit the figure and stay in place.
