Hey all! Excited to be here and see if I can chat with those with the know how! I'm coming from the game design world but have finally gotten around to trying to get into making more, adult content. Its a bit daunting, mostly to find where I can get assets! But its been fun so far.

I'm a bit lost as to where to begin. Most of my work has been with Blender and Unity, so I'm not entitely sure where to start. But this site seems like the best place to begin! I am a little lost though on how to actually begin. It seems like everyone is using the Daz3d software, but does anyone use Blender? Can I use the same files for Blender instead or is it a specific file type?

Most of what I want to do is 3d animations, but with some of the same control as a virtual novel. So far I've been using Unity to control everything. Is there a way to bring models to unity as well?

Any help at all would be wonderful!

I think DAZ comes with a bridge to blender and unity - so you can just transfer things from one to the other with just a click.

I have never used it but I am aware that i have it and it is free.

Welcome to the playing field!

As for finding assets, there's a lot of places you can go for stuff! I'll list a couple of sites just for giggles -

Daz3d official site
This site
Renderosity
RenderHub
*deleted*

And the list just goes on for days.....

As for where to begin, it really depends on your preferred program of choice. I personally use Daz3d, but I have Blender and Hexagon. I never use them as I find everything that I need in Daz.

If I'm not mistaken (based on my own knowledge, I'd suggest some research into it though) the way that I've always imported things into blender was by opening them in Daz, then exporting as an OBJ file. Though like I said, I generally don't use Blender so I've only had to do this a couple of times. But I'm sure someone like yourself with more skill and experience in the 3d field would know much better, efficient ways of doing this.

Daz3d also has an animate tool available in the program, but alas I haven't gotten around to using it. I'm still working on my still renders, with surfaces being my new main focal point of focus.

And yes - There is a Daz to Unity Bridge that is supported on the Official Daz3d website. I don't use Unity, so I don't know much about it. But it's definitely worth looking into!

Hope I was able to help you out just a little! And hope to see you around!
