Hi there.

I'm new (how many times you read such an old sentence here?)

I'm running DAZ Studio 4.10 64bits on windowns 10.

I  purchased here some stuff: M7 genital quick poses, Easy controls Plus genesis 3 male genital, and Dicktator Genitalia UVs for genesis 3.

I followed installation  instructions, dragging unzipped folders from the purchased files to my documents/daz3d/studio/my library

I opened my daz studio and I selected my content library folder. I seemed everything was there.

I made a modeling exercise, by choosing the genesis 3 male actor by default (as I don't have anything else, so far) and at the time of loading genitalia nothing happened ( at the 'scene folder', genesis 3 male was already selected)

No one of my genitalia  files worked.

What am I doing wrong and how do I correct or fix mistakes in order to get a genesis 3 male model with genitals, ready to give him a pose? I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.P.

From what I can gather; you have purchased poses, morphs and UVs?... but do you have the genitalia file itself for Genesis 3 male? Maybe also include a screenshot of where you put your files and what structure your folder has.

The various base figures don't include genitals -- you have to buy at least one of that generation's pro packs (one male and one female) to get the "anatomical elements", as DAZ calls them. Sorry, but the items you bought and installed won't do a thing unless you have them.

Well, it really depends on your personal tastes and your budget, but I would say you'd probably want to get at least the various Michael and Victoria pro packs, since the bulk of the characters, clothing, hair, props, etc., for each generation will be built with them in mind. However, you can buy any male pro pack to get that generation's male gens, and any female pro pack to get that generation's female gens, and they'll work for all the characters of that generation.

Keep in mind that the DAZ "anatomical elements" are decent enough for nudes with some limited functionality, which is why people shop here at Renderotica to get the various add-ons to to expand their functionality, or even entirely new gens like Dicktator/Futalicious or New Gens that don't rely on the DAZ AEs at all. For example, the stuff that you bought -- "M7 genital quick poses, Easy controls Plus genesis 3 male genital, and Dicktator Genitalia UVs for genesis 3" -- all depend upon you having the DAZ AEs for the Genesis 3 figures, which means you'll have had to buy at least one Genesis 3 Male pro pack and one Genesis 3 Female pro pack.

Finally, if you are just starting out and funds are short, I would recommend buying a DAZ Platinum Club membership. It's usually about $70 for a one-year membership, but it goes on sale frequently, and it gives you substantial discounts and freebies that more than offset the initial cost. Also, the various pro packs go on sale or are offered as incentives for various deals fairly often, so I would definitely NOT pay full price for them. March Madness has just kicked off, and I would keep an eye out for them to show up on sale or even as freebies sometime this month, so just be patient and be ready to jump on them when they show up.

Good luck, and welcome aboard...

EDIT: Sorry, you had asked for links.

ProtocolZero brings up a good point about the DAZ Pro bundles. When I first started out, I bought 2 pro bundles at full $135 price, just for the gens, I had literally just started my collection. While I used the heck out of those characters and don't necessarily regret the purchase, I was kicking myself 2 weeks later when all the $135 pro bundles went on sale for like $45-$65.

The DAZ core figures are usually the highest quality, have the best textures but the least texture options, and many 3rd party PA characters "layer" on top of a core character, meaning you may have to have the core character for the PA character to work correctly. Characters here or on any other site will have it clearly marked if you need a DAZ core character to use the PA character.

I wouldn't buy a DAZ Pro Bundle JUST to unlock the gens (anatomical elements). If you like what's in the bundle, and you are comfortable with the price, absolutely buy it. But the basic DAZ gens are very limited. There are products here that make them work better for sure, but if you want gens with a LOT of options and posability, there are several here on 'rotica that are WAY better than what you get with the basic DAZ gens.

I'm biased so I'll stop short of making a recommendation, but honestly you could buy all the vendors gens here and still not spend as much as a DAZ pro bundle. I'd say look at the product pictures and pick the gens that you like best/would work for what you want to render.

Also, even if you don't own a pro bundle, each character comes (almost always) with anatomical elements materials/textures, those can be used on most 3rd party gens, some requiring an add-on, but still less expensive than a pro-bundle.

Hope that helps!

ps. Yes, the PC+ membership will save you WAY more than the initial $70 investment. :)

If it's just the genitals you want to add, then the products here at Renderotica are probably a better deal than buying a Pro Pack. I won't recommend one over any others, they're all pretty good as far as I can tell. Just check the product requirements before you buy to make sure you have everything you need.

If you do want all the other stuff that comes with the Pro Pack, the Platinum Club membership definitely helps you save money. Also, the Daz Deals browser addon will give you an idea of how much items usually go on sale for and how often (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/106296/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on/p1). Plus you can get email notifications of when items are at their lowest price of the year.
