It came as a bit of shock when we received a message from BillyBoyBlue that they would like to close their account. They then explained to us the reasons behind it and we are sad to hear the news. They asked us to post this final message for their followers since it was such a sudden departure. You can feel free to comment on this post so that if they are able, BillyBoyBlue will have a chance to hear from you.

OK guys! My time is coming where I go on that final journey to join my family. It's a journey we all have to take at some time in our lives. The big C has taken over my body and I'm refusing to take up the offer of Chemo. Quality of life is more important to me than a miserable extension, where discomfort becomes the norm. So with that final comment, I bid you all a fond aduei. May you all have a prosperous, creative and fulfilling life.

We will be gathering their images by series and creating some legacy products to honour their work over the years. Watch for those to appear in the store.

A courageous decision that I intend to follow if the situation ever arises. I'm in total agreement. Quality is the essence of life. I wish you a comfortable palliative journey

This hits me in the feels. I've known too many people that have battled the Big C, and it sucks no matter which path they choose. Choosing to go with humility and grace instead of chemical continuation is the path I'd follow as well. I hope I never have to make that choice.

I consider this community to be something of a family, a bunch of weirdos that get our kicks through 3D. I've interacted with a lot of you, Billy included. You're brave, my friend. I wish you the most pleasant of journeys. Until next time.

I am ambivalent about your undoubtedly courageous decision. Twenty years ago, I determined to survive a diagnosis of fourth-stage lung cancer. My mantra was: I am not dying of cancer, I'm living with it.  And one day, I'll be living without it. To this day, I cherish the memory of my primary nurse excitedly observing, "You're so much more positive than all my other patients!" My medical oncologist - the doctor whose strategy of chemotherapy saved my life - called it a pleasure to treat me. His outstanding medical intervention enabled me to realize my unshakable goal. I embraced chemotherapy as a necessary and effective solution and, in the course of time, I survived lung cancer. A wise man suggested that - no matter the prognosis - the harder you fight, the longer you live. You know what's best for you of course, but I'm for fighting back. Make the big C work its butt off to get you.

Cheers, and my sincere best wishes.

Having recently been at the start of a similar path, this could have been, and may still be, me. I turned down the option which would have led to a longer, but miserable, life. I'm hoping the treatment I agreed to will allow me back to a more reasonable life once the current effects of surgery have worn off, but wonder if I would have been better off accepting a shorter, but more normal, life.

My best wishes to BillyBoyBlue and I hope he is able to make the most of his remaining time.
