Has anyone here but the bullet yet on G9? How does this model bend in the hip area compared to G8/.1F OUT OF THE BOX (no assisting bend morphs)? Maybe someone has comparison shots... I personally don't want to bite the bullet and make obsolete almost 500gigs of assets I have for G8F just yet... But bendability will definitely be the biggest selling point.

How about trying it yourself since it's free?
Installing Genesis 9 doesn't make anything obsolete. Almost everything from generation 8 works in 9 and you can also keep using Genesis 8.1. It's not like 9 overwrites it.  DAZ STUDIO USER SINCE 2006

I've used items (pants, bras, panties, jock straps, hair, etc) from Genesis 1-3 on Genesis 8... and all that still works on Genesis 9. I also saw a post on how to get your props to work. And you can use the same manual method to move your morphs over as well. I was playing around and got my old G1 head morphs (that I converted from M4) into G9 as well. The advantage is that the eyeballs and teeth don't get messed up since they're now a separate figure.
Only thing I'm waiting for is more skin texture options since they're on the light side as they are with any new generation. But I trying to learn to paint my own skin.

Well... 8 days later and I finally got around to trying G9 myself (which is why I made this post... Because I knew it would be extraordinarily delayed), and to my dismay, G9 currently bends worse than G8F. Perhaps some morphs, or a reweighed NGG9 model might suffice. But, yah... Total waste of time and disk space (another reason I was asking for reference pics from a poor sod who may have already discovered this).

Yeah, I agree HellBoy! I don't see any issues either. I've had my hands on her for a few weeks and she bends AMAZING out of the box. Here are a few test renders I did (posting some pictures because I think they speak volumes), perhaps you could post what you are seeing Downjonsie? I'd love to see what you are having issues with; perhaps someone can help with a morph pack on here? Edit: The only one I am using at all is Shape Shift from the DAZ store so she isn't completely vanilla)

Yeah she wasn't meant to be viewed from this angle (The front only). Please do! I will say, DAZ's anatomy has always been subpar. They specifically don't spend a lot of time on it for reasons they have made clear (they don't want their products used for porn). Perhaps you should wait till some Anatomy from here is added to her before adopting G9 fully? I am getting to know New Gens for G9 and I know 3FeetWolf is working on tweaking it. Also Meipe is working on one and his products are fantastic.

There is also a lack of groin tendon tension, and when the hip bends, the glutes do not remain together like that. The buttcrack tends to widen, and the glute muscle move upward and inward, looking, in lieu of a better adjective, "pointed" (not actually pointed but you know what I mean) and these subtleties do make a huge difference in convincing organic motion.

For skinny women yes that is true, for women with a little more in the backside that isn't the case (not going to post any pics of actual women on here but google has several examples). Again, I did use ShapeShift (available in the DAZ store) here so this render G8 is a little thicker in those regions  . Default G8 wasn't the best out the box and the PAs took their time crafting excellent morphs to correct some of her issues. Several specifically to do with bending. I'd say give G9 a year or so and check her out again. For me I have fully moved over and with the new gens popping up here on this site, I think she'll be worth the investment in a few years for you. If you have any suggestions to what you want to see, with pictures please post them here. I know the contributers here like Meipe and others are working on Gens now so now is the best time to leave feedback. Here is the last pic I'll leave here to show what she can do right now for those curious who stumble on this thread (with New Gens from 3feetwolf):

Ahh good point and something I should've already considered; especially since I have an extraordinary amount of morphs for G8F (and after shaping, all corrective morphs are favorites for bends). I will give that G9 finally took care of that jarring groin bulge the female models had and made it a bit more smooth and the higher mesh density needs less smoothing to produce better results (so less CPU chugging when moving a model with smoothing applied yay). Okay, I'll take you up on that - I'll give G9 time hahah
