Hi people,

I am new to this forum and also to DAZ and I am excited, first of all because I realized, that I missed those nice forum-times, I enjoyed those. Like minded people, talking about one special topic, protected behind anonymous nicknames.  It was a good time, long before everyone started shitting on each others faces and opinions on facebook, twitter and co.

Anyway - I am from a small european country. I got a new computer a year ago and I already had in mind to work with stuff like Zbrush (well, I haven't had the time to really dive into it... but that is another story). I always was a mac- and console guy and now I was sitting infront of a high end desktop, windows desktop, so I started to look into those things, I missed on mac and playstation and started to enjoy a lot of indie games. I found myself playing visual novels like Vampire The Masquerade and it was a small step to lewd games like City of Broken Dreamers. I played a lot of them and one day I decided to give DAZ a try. Now I am here, surrounded by people creating fantastic cgi porn and I want to get better in creating nice images. Right now, I rage quit on every second "picture". For example, yesterday I did something and suddenly my figure had now eyebrows anymore. Couldn't get them back on, Cntrl Z didn't help so I started new. Everytime I try to use breastacular and golden palace on one model, the boobs become white glassy and I can't fix it, no matter the shell fix. My dream would be to create my own little visual novel. I am already a little into renpy, just have to learn better workflows in Daz (for example, how to animate)

Sooo, if there are some veterans reading this, I actually have some questions. Maybe someone can answer me:

1) Does DAZ render the whole scene or only the visible part in the camera frame?
Because, that would fasten render times if I deleted everything outside the camera, I guess? Or am I wrong?
I did a test: A bar scene, two characters. One time I started to render without any changes, one time I zoomed in (way less details) and rendered, the last time I zoomed even more in (only the character on a pole) and deleted everything around the camera... the rendering took everytime like 20 to 30 minutes. So I guess, I don't have to delete everything around the camera to fasten the render process?

2) If I apply make up, the model's faces get kinda red. Is there a possibility, that they keep there normal skin colour under the eye shadows?
Not sure, maybe this came from the scene lighting. Maybe the make up reflects the light different than the rest of the body?

3) Please please, is there a good step by step walkthrough how to use breastacular combined with golden palace? I'd love to use that without getting those glassy boobs.

Thanks in advance :-)
Looking forward to post in this forum and maybe share some pics, bcus I don't really know, wherelse to show them.

1) Daz renders everything not hidden in the scene, visible to the camera or not. You can get away with hididng objects that are behind the camera providing you are not relying on them for lighting/shadows/reflections.

2) More info is needed about what makeup you are applying to what character. Some characters have baked in makeup options that replace the face texture with one that has the makeup already applied. These cannot be used on another character as the skin tone will be different. Others use a makeup layer in the skin shader, but if they are designed for use with that specific character you shouldn't run into problems. Others use LIE (layered Image Editor) to make a new face texture with makeup applied. If it doesn't also change the translucency map this may result in odd results.

3) Once you've loaded the Breastacular and Golden Palace attachments, and the Golden Palace geoshells in particular, select a geoshell in the scene tab, go to the surfaces tab and highlight the Breastacular Torso and Arms textures, and move the Opacity slider to zero. Do this for each geoshell applied. You can go into the geoshell parameters tab and turn off the relevent parts, but I find if I use the Geometry Editor, those parts turn back on again, so the surface opacity setting is more permanent.

Thank you so much for your answer! Maybe I got makeup from a different chara by mistake. That could indeed be the problem. Ans Im going to try your geoshell fix next time! Thanks again

When I make my characters, I like to do it on the 'products' tab, not the 'items', this way I know I'm only using the materials for that figure. Otherwise look into makeup marked 'layered', so it'll just add the makeup on top of the skin you've already chosen.

Also, if I make a character I plan on using more than once I change their name to quick reference the figure's materials. For instance, Tusk is saved as Tusk (Dezzi Base).
