Hi guys,

I just submitted  the 8.1 update for G8F Lickalicious... so in a few days time you'll be able to download it. Last time the e-mail notification tool was broken, so you'll need to check by yourselves ;)

What's new:

- GF 8.1 support;

- Added selector scripts;

- Fixed a bug that created an indentation on the tip of the tongue with some FBM;

- Added a texture option (rudimentary octopus look... for real tentacle, I'll need to create a new Lickalicious with another geometry)

Enjoy!

Hello,

I've bought and installed this product today, I hope this is the right place to ask a question. Applying the tongue was no problem, I had no troubles with multiple shells either, but... I can't seem to find out how to actually move (not shape) the thing. I've tried some of Thunder-3D's included bonus poses, which work fine, but I have no idea which bones/joints/morphs these presets actually change so that I could pose the tongue myself. After I've applied said bonus poses, I've looked everywhere (shaping/poses, the individual tongue bones) and I reset every "currently used" slider and variable that I could find, but the tongue still kept most of the pose of the bonus pose. That means there are some sliders or morphs or IDK what that I can't find... which is pretty frustrating.

So, I guess my question is, how can I actually move the darn thing and pose it manually? Is there something super obvious that I'm too blind to see? I really wanna use this product, because it seems 100 times better than the default tongue, I hope someone can help me.

You need to open up Lickalicious and follow the bones down till you get to the tongue parts. You  can use these to maniputalte it.

Ok, yes, that lets me manipulate the tongue, but that wasn't what I meant. To be more precise, I cannot seem to figure out how to manually stick the tongue out (or put it back in). As example, I've used the Bonus 003 Lickalicious "pose" and I've removed all the used variables that I could find, yet the tongue is still sticking out, I don't know how to put it back in. On the other hand, if I don't use Thunder-3D's premade pose, I cannot figure out how to stick it out...

I think I know now what the problem is, but I still have no idea why it is or how to solve it. It seems that I don't have the "Length" morph for the tongue anywhere, although it is in my folder (see screenshots).

I install everything manually, in case that's important. Any ideas on how I might solve this?

I just checked out of curiosity and I don't have the Length morph showing either, puzzling. My morph list starts with Pancake and a search of the parameters confirms it's not there. Using the latest updated file. I can stick the tongue out by using the 'Z Scale All' morph under 2-Pose Presets but don't think this is necessarily the correct way given what Meipe posted above.

When I apply one of the Thunder-3D presets it calls the Length morph which is then loaded and activated but appears greyed out as a hidden parameter and is available for that session but that morph is not loading by default upon loading the Lickalicious figure.

Maybe you have a morph with the same name on G8F / GF8.1 and it "enslaves" the one on the graft, hiding it. You may rename the one on Lickalicious and resave it as a Morph Asset (File->Save As->Support Asset). Then, reload Lickalicious, and you'll have the new morph (the old one will still be there), visible.

That sounds plausible, I guess, but I don't know how to rename the Lickalicious morph if I cannot find it. I tried renaming the Length.dsf file, but that didn't make the morph appear in the Parameters after restarting DAZ. Do you have a tutorial or guide or something to help with your possible solution? I've never done this before... I just wanna use the tongue :/

As a quick workaround, load one of the Thunder-3D bonus poses that has the tongue sticking out and then just zero it out. That loads the Length morph as shown in my picture above and it becomes available to use.

For me the culprit is a morph named "Length" in Zev0's Fit Control suite.

It's an AWESOME product, not knocking it at all, just pointing out that they both have a slider named "Length" that are somehow conflicting. After uninstalling Fit Control, the Lickalicious "Length" slider became visible again by default.

If you want to use both of these excellent products at the same time (I do recommend both!), just be aware that the Length sliders will conflict and cause each to become hidden, but they work fine. To see them, simply do the following:

Select Parameters Tab, look up to the upper right OF THE TABS and click the little dialogue symbol (4 lines with an arrow pointing right) then select preferences/show hidden properties, now all the hidden sliders will be visible.

TIP: this is also a handy feature for customizing. ;)

This can be switched off later if the glut of sliders gets confusing :D

OK, permanent fix. Make sure you have a backup of the original zip file, or access to it, in case of issues. I tend to copy the original morph file out to another folder as backup before I start editing.

1 - Rename the morph in the data folder. I called mine Tongue_Length (Picture 01)

2 - Open that file (Tongue_Length.dsf) in a text editor. I use Notepad++.

3 - Rename 5 instances of the name Length to Tongue_Length in the file. 3 at the top and two at the bottom of the text. (Pictures 02 and 03)

4 - Save the file and restart DAZ and load G8F and Lickalicious and the Length morph will show (Picture 04).

Hope that helps and if you ahve any problems let me know and I'll try and help.

THANK YOU! It worked! Finally, I can use this product without issue!
