I recently bought an new computer with windows 10 pro installed. I'm running new version of Corel Photopaint. I'm opening up photopaint files that were created in windows 7 with an older version of photopaint. When I click on the Arial Bold font, the original look and feel of it kind of changed to something that seems like it has slightly softer edges. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I'm wondering if the font has changed slightly in windows 10 from windows 7? Any thoughts on this or people have experience with it?

No it has not really. Question though, did you get a 4k monitor with your new computer? I just replaced my card and monitor with a 4k and it makes some stuff like fonts blurry a bit, sort of like the old style of anti aliasing. I'm here for the donuts..... Where are they??

I think they did actually come up with a newer version of the arial font if I read correctly online. The old version shows up correctly when I open my corel photopaint template, but when I click on the text, it conforms to the newer version embedded on the windows 10. I'm not a big fan of change🙄. I have tried copying it and installing it, but the windows 10 arial is a protected font in the OS.

did you see this in your search? Fix Blurry Text in Windows 10: Right click on the application in which you are facing issues. Select “Properties” from the popup menu. Click on “Compatibility” tab. Select “Override high DPI scaling behaviour. Select “System” from the options provided in “Scaling performed by” section. Click on “Apply” button and then on “OK.” It seems to work I'm here for the donuts..... Where are they??

Thanks for the info. I tried adjusting those settings, no changes occurred. I did dave the image and it seems took okay once I opened it in another viewer other than the crap windows 10 photo viewer. I appreciate your input and insight to the compatibility options.😀

When I brought a new monitor I needed to set up the thing to give the sharpest fonts on the screen. See if yoyr monitor requires set up fine tuning. Mine did.
