Interesting story. But your picture leaves one thing unexplained: why was she transforming?

She's not actually. In my fictional universe many of the Ad&D fae races are still about. The Drow included. in a few images here and over at deviant art I explain that Ni'Silna comes from a version of drow that left the underdark about the same time humans on earth left for the stars. Now, I'm assuming you know that elves as they age generally don't appear to humans to age at all. My take is similar except for the drow that left the underdark as they age develop a version of vitiligo. The level that Ni'Silna has it would infer that she is quite old, very nearly epicly old. While she is rather old for elves she's accented her remaining natural color with gold and silver tattoos. Mostly to accent what little drow-ness and to advertise that she's a mage to people that understand the old ways. In the far future of traveler that she lives she's generally regarded as a regular elf or a variant of darrian.

Now one point I will concede to you. While clearly there is sex going on in this image, you seem to have spotted something additionally happening beyond the actual action. But I assure you it is not her transforming colors.
