View Full Version : New Contest Next Month?

Hey Y'all.

Okay, here's the deal. it's been a while since I ran my last contest, so I think it's about time to run another one. I would like to run it at the end of next month (last two weeks), so I need to have everything together by the end of this month. I don't want to wait any longer than that because the Halloween contest comes in October, and I don't like to run month after month contests (waaaaay too much work to do with a full-time job as well).

Unfortunately, no brilliant ideas have come to me, so i am going to give y'all an opportunity to toss ideas out here. What would y'all like to see in the next contest?

Remember; contests are different than rallies. Since I give out prizes, I expect more effort from the entries (not that the rallies haven't been great... y'all have done excellent in them!). I'm still going to be the one picking out the theme, but I wanted to see if y'all had a hankering for anything specific.

So, the floor is open. What y'all got for me??? :study:

(p.s. - oh, I am getting ready to run out of town again, so I will have a picture for the thread later on.)

Hmmmm.... my birthday is August 23rd. How about a contest that's all for and about me?

Just kidding :) .

I'm just wondering, though... does there really have to be a specific theme for a contest, just as long as the subject matter is erotic or erotica or just plain dirty? We have annual Valentines, Alien Invasion, Halloween, and Year End contests.... what about just an annual Renderotica contest? Or Rendered Erotica?

Chuck ;)

Mythology - Ancient Greek and otherwise
Lost Worlds
Too much of a good thing
A Royal romp
Ow you're on my hair - When sex goes wrong
Patron God(ess) of (your choice of robust city)

I recall the "twisted tales" contest on the old site went well. Perhaps this time we could do a different take on classic myths instead of nursery rhymes.

NOW I remember the theme I've been wanting to do... Fairy Tales and Fables. I've heard that it's a theme that's been done before, but I'm not sure if it was a contest or a rally; In any case, I wasn't here at the time.

Well, there's a couple of fun ideas.

Fairy Tales and Fables (twisted or otherwise). There've been a couple of these over the years and they were a blast.

Renderotica (anything goes)

'course, if I have an idea, I'll participate in just about any old topic you come up with. :)

Like the Fairy Tales and Fables idea, and here's another one. Self-portrait in a fantasy, you have to make a render as close to yourself in your favorite fantasy.

"i like deadmans's but then you would have to post a real pic of yourself, might help others to see who's who, Fairy Tales and Fables feel's right,it's along the line's of WTF as much as you can place it,but can Fairy Tales and Fables include Edgar Allan Poe work's or even Jules G. Verne that would be a grand shift in style challange adding erotica to story's like that:eusa_dance:

I like the fable/fairy tale idea. I've already messed around with Alice in a wonderful land a bit. Just kind of worried we'd wind up with 20 versions of red riding hood and the wolf.

I also like the idea of mythology, it's a concept that can be dealt with on a world wide level, in addition to the usual Zeus shooting thunder bolts out of a swan's schwanz.

As for including the artist in the image.....sorry, can't do that. They just don't make Michael morphs pretty enough for me. 8-)

I like th Edgar Allan Poe idea but it doesn't belong with Fairy Tales and Fables. The theme would need to be something like "Gothic Horror" or perhaps "19th century fiction".

Verne would be a sort of Steam Punk theme, which would be cool too.

I also forgot to add, in my previous post, that I liked the Movie Scene idea too.

Now, back to your original program......

Then perhaps a sort of Twisted Tales theme as ChasC suggested would be better, where your favorite work of fiction is victim... whether it be Classic Literature, Fairy Tales, Fables, or Modern works of fiction. A theme broad enough, perhaps, to avoid seeing 25 different versions of 'Little Red Riding Cape'.

There was a small contest at Daz in the Members Only forum many months ago with a similar theme, and people posted everything from classics like "Wuthering Heights" to modern day tales of vampires and werewolves like 'Twilight' and the works of Ann Rice. Lots of great entries there, and I took home top prize for "Horton Hatches the Egg".

Okay, I am in town (briefly) before I am out of town again (is there a such thing as frequent flier miles for your car??) and trying to catch up. I am going to leave the discussion go for a bit more before deciding, but it looks like people are thinking along the lines of a Twisted Tales idea?

I don't want to do anything that is too broad, so the theme has to be something that can be easily identified. Remember: unlike Rallies, this one will be judged, and the judging pool needs to have a good set of criteria to judge from. We look at how well you follow the theme and how imaginative you are at doing so as well as all of the technical stuff.

Keep the ideas coming. :study:

'Myths, Legends, and Fables' isn't exactly narrowing the field... you just expanded it again :) .

Myths and Legends go together, and Fairy Tales and Fables go together.... but putting them all together is just too broad a field. I have a feeling that we will have to pick one or the other. I like the idea of Myths and Legends, but I honestly have to say that I like Fairy Tales and Fables more. That one still gets my vote.

Chuck ;)

Now I'm going to get my ass kicked for this but do stories from the bible qualify as Fiary Tales and Fables???? Got an idea for Adam and Eve, may even do something for Chuck like Adam and Steve. In a bad mode today and would love to punch out a priest or a politician.

fable i think,
A fable is a succinct story, in prose or verse, that features animals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal), mythical creatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mythical_creatures), plants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant), inanimate objects (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inanimate), or forces of nature (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nature) which are anthropomorphized (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphized) (given human (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human) qualities), and that illustrates a moral (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral) lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end be expressed explicitly in a pithy maxim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxim_(saying)).
A fable differs from a parable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable) in that the latter excludes animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech and other powers of humankind.
Usage has not always been so clearly distinguished. In the King James Version (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_James_Version) of the New Testament (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Testament), "μύθος" ("mythos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth)") was rendered by the translators (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Translator) as "fable"[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fable#cite_note-0) in First (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Epistle_to_Timothy) and Second Timothy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Epistle_to_Timothy), in Titus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titus) and in First Peter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Epistle_of_Peter).:study:

Sorry about your bad mood, Deadman.

My own personal impression would put bible stories under the heading of Myths and Legends. A myth tends to be religious in nature (think Greek/Roman mythology and such).

I would prefer to stay away from Myths and Legends for one main reason, which is the TOS abuse factor. A lot of people say "Wow! Myths!" and think this is an excuse to do Zues as animal-X trying to seduce someone, which is a TOS violation.

To answer the Fairy Tale / Fable question, yes, the fairy tale/fable in question could be set to a past, present, or (if you are imaginative enough) future setting.

Oh, I want to address another concern someone had. You might see loads and loads of Red Riding Hoods, but if they didn't stand out from each other then the Little Miss Muffet might stand out more for being different from the crowd. And if you were really clever, you'd find a fable or fairy tale that is really uncommon to make it stick in the Judge's minds.

Still mulling over the results of our discussion, so if anyone has any other ideas (or want to discuss and / or endorse the Fable idea further) speak up! :study:

Thank you Crom131 & Kathyrne, sorry for being an ass with my question. Should learn to Zen out before I sign in. I like to twist some tale or fable

I also think the bible is a fairytale but then I 'm not religious so I can see it just as that (mentioned before as question by deadman)
but for safety I will stay with the ones you all see as fairytale. if we go that way.

b.t.w. crom, that japanese 'dick party' is the "virtility festifal"
translate that into japanese and you have the name

Tinkering myself with idea of submitting something to the contest - which is just for fun, not really thinking about winning something - I also like the “Fairy Tales and Fables” idea. In the very moment I read the headline some ideas start to circle in my head which is not a bad requisite for finally squeezing out a picture.

I also like “Flight of Fantasy” ... well ... given the “fetish” I follow in my picture this theme instantly produces a nice idea (I think). Har har ... yeees ... !

Looking forward to the the Contest!
