There is a (kinda new) product on Daz that enables you to use G9 textures in G8. However to achieve this it creates a geograft much like a second skin you'll apply the textures to. This geograft doesn't cover (or interferes, I don't know) the Golden Palace geograft. Hence you cannot copy the new materials to Golden Palace. Could there be a work around?

Depending on the product, it might not touch gens at all.
Then it could be just loading the (G8GP) graft, assigning the PBR to (G8GP) graft surfaces, then Mat Copy or manual copy/paste body/torso surface to (G8GP) Graft's surface as usual.
The G8 GP shell should load the same and shell fix should repair all shells as before.

Is there a difference between Iray and PBR surfaces in regards to UV mapping? Because I am using the former.

This is the best did achieve, without any shells so far:

There is no difference between Uber and PBRSkin regarding UV maps. But if you are copying material settings, you need to make sure both parts are using the same shader.

Its not a matter of UVs. G8GP actually has its own UV Map. Base shader values are copied to the graft and fine details are on the shell.
The difference is in the Shaders.
Iray Uber Shaders Preset doesn't have all the values of Iray PBR Shaders Preset.(Viewable under Surfaces Tab.)
So a standard Mat Copy script run still has missing shaders or can leave some values unchanged or unmatched preventing a color matched seamless look.

You can work around this in a few different ways.

Method 1.
- Using a Uber (usually just called "Iray", even though they both are Iray presets) to PBR Shader product on the G8GP graft surfaces, then running Mat Copy.

*Method 2.
- In the Surfaces Tab.
Load the blank base PBR skin shader from the DAZ presets (My DAZ 3D Library\Shader Presets\Iray\Daz PBRSkin) to the G8GP's torso/body front and torso/body back surfaces.
Then run Mat Copy or Manual Copy/Paste (right click in surfaces tab) the shader values of the Figure's Body/Torso to the G8GP's Body/Torso Surface... you may or may not want to then reload the G8GP shader maps to G8GP torso/body surfaces shaders after the shader is updated and values are transferred.

Hope it wasn't over technical, it's easier than it sounds.
