I created a blog yesterday. It was my first attempt at doing so. It appears that the comments button doesn't work. Is this a bug? Have I done it wrong?

I have taken a look at how you set up your Blog post and, NO, you didn't do anything wrong. Everything appears to set up correctly. I did some more testing and have discovered that comments don't appear to be working on any Blog posts at the moment, so I've opened a ticket with our programmers to look into this and get it resolved. I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but we'll get it sorted out as soon as we can. Thanks for pointing it out.
