Hi, Personally I see nothing wrong with keeping a backup copy for your own use other than your backup is on the same PC and presumably same hard disk. A better option would be to save the zips to an external device such as a USB drive. I'm just here by mistake, for a friend, for science... anyway you can't prove nuffin'.

Hey, Digital_Mercury,
Thank you for your reply! I was just checking. I'm still new to manually installing the products I purchase and I really want to make sure I back them up so I never lose them.
Thanks.

Hi FrecklezRay1998,
as Digital_Mercury said, you can make as many backup copies as you want. Of course, it would be unfair to put the backups in a PnP folder if you do nasty PnP stuff...., but hopefully you don't do such things. A second, third, n_th backup copy on external devices is also a good advice from Digital_Mercury.
There is even an important reason to make backup copies: If you install with DIM (DAZ Install Manager) and the DIM settings are set "wrong" (in this case), DIM will "munch" the .zip file during installation. The product is then installed, but the .zip is gone.
Have a nice day!

Hi rollemops,
I've never heard of a PnP folder, I'm not sure what those are. I just Googled them and I still don't really understand. I only store my downloaded zips on my hard drive, in a folder I created so I can keep the stuff I own as a backup. I didn't know I could make as many back up copies as I wanted though.
Thank you for your reply!

Hi FrecklezRay1998,
was supposed to be more of a joke, but then I botched it up pretty bad (it's still too early in the morning). Meant was P2P. Sorry for the irritations ...

Hi rollemops,
Oh, haha! No problem. No, I just keep my downloaded zip files on my hard drive as a backup for myself.

The problem I have with "having a online backup copy" is that people put it up on Mega, Mediafire and stuff like that. It only took me 5 seconds of google to find illegal download copys of most products published by us including mine which is very discouraging.

And If I may add something. I tried to DMCA some of them. The Problem is, that would cost me about 200$ of processing fees and after 2 days those pirates probaply have created new links anyway. :-/
