Title says it all. I lost over 300 points in 2 days.  Thursday I had over 400 points.  I noticed I only had 272 last night and now I only have 92.  Most of the points were gained though product purchase.  Was thinking about making a purchase this weekend but with all of the points gone, not sure now.

The points program as it is nowadays is a joke and a cruel one at that.

Hi,

points gained by purchases have a much shorter half-time than those gained for uploads. However, you may want to check your points account: it happened to me that a purchase was logged in twice. Since I used points to buy, those also got deducted twice (to the merit of the system: the newly acquired points got credited 2 x, too). However, this lead to a big negative balance. Took 3 mails to got this rectified, but in the end the points count was correct.

I agree about the points being poor. I frequently accrue points only to see them vanish before my next chosen purchase - which of course makes me less likely to buy it anyway. On other sites there are several generally generous discount systems which encourage spending, but here that is less common - not that it doesn't happen, but it is unusual for a good discount to occur. I don't see why points accumulated need to be removed. It would be simpler for everyone if they remained until used. Incidentally, I have never fathomed how to sue them to access 'closed' images....

I haven't been on 'rotica for awhile.  I did make a purchase awhile back and had a nice 200+ balance.  For some reason, even though I haven't checked out the gallery, I have a - 100 balance.  What gives?

In the top right hand corner of the screen is 'Your Points' there is a box to the right which shows your points balance, if you click inside this box it will bring up a history that shows points added and deducted.

This may give you an idea of what has happened.

I believe any points gained from views etc don't carry over month on month.  I am not sure about points gained from purchases.

I believe it breaks down like this:

Points gained from purchases expire after a month.

Points gained from gallery picture views (requiring 6 or more likes on a picture and yielding 6 points as well) will expire after 6 months.

Points bought or earned by winning a contest here never expire.

But I could be wrong, that is what I think is the situation though at this time.

This is why it's important to keep abreast of Store rules,  Purchase and Redeeming options..

Perhaps to avoid confusion in the future,  the Rederotica Receipt could post a warning that whatever points you have earned today will expire in 30 days

I think that the idea of a message to say the store points expire in 30 days is an excellent idea.

This points query/thread has popped up several times over the years.

I think that store points expiring is, in itself, a bad idea.I, for one thing, am anything but rich. Back in the Diane days, points
were earned at a better rate I believe and they stayed where they were. After a few decent purchases, the obtained points
could buy me a little bonus, like a 5-8 dollars item. It wasn't stellar but it still felt nice to think that your bonuses added up to
something. Nowadays points aren't even worth pocket change. that change of rules was petty and it still is.
