TAB actually works on G8M with very little modifications. Posting this up to reserve this thread for instructions and comments. Instructions coming soon
Here's a sample image using a combination of Demon HD and Swole 8 Fibo HD.

First off, this is needs TAB for *Genesis 3 Male*. Please do not Genesis 2 or the Poser version.
Instructions are located here: CLICK HERE
If you want an anus like with G3M you can use the G8M gens first and then load TAB on top of it. However, you will need to remove the genitalia part. I have converted Ero's original morph to G8M, but I'm waiting for a green light from him to share it since he made the original and not me. Tab Shorts will also be helpful here and can be made following the tutorial on my thread found HERE.
Also, as a warning, Xenic's new G8M muscle morphs that affect the hip and torso region will not play nice because it comes with projection morphs :-P
For textures, make sure you choose the "M7" UV on TAB in order for the textures to line up correctly. Both G3M and G8M share the same UV for Gens.
Happy to help with questions you might have.
Samples of how it looks on a model that's a combination of Orc HD and Swole 8 Hercules HD using Raw's Orc textures.

Did you click on the "..." button to bring up the extra choices and then double click on "Genesis 8" to expand the dropdown and then select "Male"?

Interesting. Can you send me a screenshot? None of the betatesters had this, but let's see if we can fix that :-)
The other thing I would do (just to make sure you have the basic g8m file installed correctly) is to load a piece of clothing for g8m and then check the scene identification for that and see what it has compatibility and preferred base set to. It should be "Genesis 8 Male" for both. Edited by user Sunday, July 29, 2018 12:26:15 PM(UTC)

Let me know if it doesn't. Everything about this is using basic Daz techniques, so as long as you have Genesis 8 Male installed correctly, it should show up as a choice.

That is very interesting. Daz is acting like you don't have Genesis 8 anything or Genesis 3 installed.
- Did you ever install Genesis 3 (male or female)? - Did you also install the Daz Genesis 8 Male Starter Essentials? - And did you install this through DIM? - Is this installed in a non-standard directory? I see that it recognizes Genesis and Genesis 2, is Genesis 3 and Geneis 8 installed in the same directory? - Can you load a piece of clothing for g8m, and then send me a screenshot of the Scene Identification windo

everything installed was installed manually. I think that is why they are not showing up. So no DIM. And they are in a non standard directory as well. I have them on a seperate drive the complete program. I'm here for the donuts..... Where are they??

Unfortunately, it's more than likely the nonstandard directory. Somehow Daz isn't seeing that you have G3 or G8 installed. The only thing I can think of is to locate where you have Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 installed originally and put Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 (at least the base figures in there) and see if that remedies it. Daz is seeing Genesis 1 and Genesis 2.
Maybe somebody who is a bit more knowledgeable about the inner workings of Daz and its configuration might know.
Sorry about that.

You need to ensure you've added your external folder as a base directory and ensure it follows the standard structure within that folder, then Daz will find everything (see attached, right click in Daz similar to the pop up in the image).
I keep my main library on an external drive with no issues. 2scoops5 attached the following image(s):

Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 are really, really close in terms of compatibility.
Also, a conformer like TAB has a HUGE advantage over geoshells and anatomy that seem to do different things in Daz. It's much, much simpler to deal with conforming outfits, hairs, and other conforming-type props.
SickleYield has an excellent tutorial in her DeviantArt.
https://www.deviantart.c...to-G8-G8-to-G3-686682065
While this says "clothing", it also mentions Hair. It's all about conformers, though.
(Morphs are also really easy to port, but that's a different discussion.)
This is one case where Genesis 8 being an incremental improvement over Genesis 3 is actually really, really good.

I agree.
Especially with TAB, since it's located and conforming to the Hip/pelvis area. If it had involved the arms and legs it would haven't gotten trickier. The real issue is making sure you redo the compatibility base, otherwise if you just load TAB with G8M selected it's going to try and converted it using a template, and that will destroy the jcm's.
I figured it was so simple, it didn't make sense not to explain it and have people think they couldn't use TAB with G8M.
To your other point, I also find that how a lot of new props rely on geoshells to do the textures and blending to be a bit of a pain in the ass. Edited by user Wednesday, August 1, 2018 5:42:17 PM(UTC)
