Tomorrow, September 19 2019, thousands upon thousands of Poser users will try to update to Poser 11.2. Not being a wealthy man, I will not play the bank for the pool betting what time the servers at *deleted* will collapse under the strain. I will say that I have $10 that says the business will not go smoothly. Whatever the outcome, I'll use that cash to buy myself a beer or three.

Nine Nineteen Nineteen. One way or another, it's going down in Poser history.

And farewell Andy, Rest in Poser!

Won't matter much for me, unless they upload it late tonight, I will have to wait till my ISP's Bonus Data kicks in at 2:00 AM on the 20th to start downloading anyway. Though there might be a little less strain as the 100+ Early Adopters should already have their updates. (Unless they have been holding off on the content update part, as I know there was some delay mentioned as far as having La Femme added to the content, but that was also before they mentioned the addition of Maise and the Hivewire3D figures to the content downloads as well so I'm not sure if all that made it into the Early Adopter downloads)  I am part of the Early Adopter pool so I have a Bondware version, so I'll be safe as to using Poser if I have to wait a few days to download the public build of 11.2, still will have all the content downloads to get though as I have held off on them.

The snarky part of me wants to go "with the number of current Poser Users I don't think Rendo's Dell Optiplex 3020 should have a load problem" fortunately the saner parts of my body locked it in a closet.

Oh they'll have some server strain I guarantee that, base program is 1.2 GB, Support files are 295.3 MB and then the Content is being listed at 8+ GB (I'm figuring the current version on the Early Adopter page is likely what they will be releasing tomorrow, as they were released around noon today, but they could still release another daily build on the Early Adopter side for all I know)

Snarkyness aside, yes I think they are going to have issues. Regrettably load is something that is pretty difficult to account for ahead of time when it spikes. They've been in the business a long time though, and I imagine they have some idea of what it's going to be like. We'll see, and I have no intention of betting against problems ;)

I expected issues, but I downloaded the new Poser 11.2 (1Gb+) plus all the premier files (a couple Gb) without any problems or slow-downs on Thursday morning.  It installed without a hitch.  A pleasant surprise.

On Thursday I downloaded the software without any problems. Installed it and it seems to be working fine. It knew my serial number and worked.

Boy, do I feel like a DICKHEAD! By all evidence, Bondware/*deleted* pulled it off without a hitch. There's egg all over my face!  Next time, I'll keep my big silly mouth shut.

I wouldn't say without a hitch, I had to wait a full day to download the full update (I'm literally just starting the last file download, after going at it roughly eight hours), as the files refused to download yesterday.
thanks 1 user thanked nightwolf1982 for this useful post.

I down loaded everything in under an hour  but the servers were slow  I have high speed internet 75 MBPS + and one simple 2 GB file took close to 4 minutes

I did like how they did it  Optioning to let you load certain items or not

I'm optimistic. I think *deleted* really wants to do the right thing for their customers.

Personally, I'd like to see Poser work in Linux (whether a native version or through Wine). Also, I'd like to be able to render with AMD cards. I like this hobby, but being tied to Windows + Nvidia (WinVidia™?) is frustrating.

Other things I'd like are geografts and better scene management like DS has. But I know it all won't happen overnight, I'm just happy with an occasional improvement here and there.
