Studio Lights ************************************************************ --Product Name: Studio lights Daz 4.8 --Copyright September, 2015 --By: Rumen Delchev aka RumenD ************************************************************ Introduction. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The product contains 18 studio light presets. The color schemes cover the most popular standards used in multimedia. The lights are divided into 3 separate groups. 1- Ambient Occlusion - Simulates the light reflected from the interior's walls. 2- Studio Lights - These are 6 light sources: 1- Top Light - spot. 2- Back Light - spot. 3- Left Side - spot. 4- Right Side - spot. 5- Face accent - spot. 6- Front Light - distant light. 3- Bottom Lights - Consists of 4 lights, which simulate the light reflected from the ground: 1- Bottom - distant light. 2- Side 1 - distant light. 3- Side 2 - distant light. 4- Side 3 - distant light. Aside from the lights, every preset imports in the scene 4 simple geometries. 1- Background - A big curved surface which is used as a background to the scene. The object is properly unwrapped and can be textured with any texture or picture. NOTE: In the promo images there are 2 renders for which pictures of ice and fire from the internet have been used as a background. These pictures are not included in this package. 2- Chromed sphere and cylinder - These two objects are not related to the lighting and can be hidden or removed. 3- 1 big sphere which simulates the 3D environment of the scene. This is necessary in order to properly render reflective surfaces. You can see its reflection on the chrome sphere and cylinder. This guarantees that a reflective surface will always have something to reflect, regardless of its position. Every preset has its corresponding render preset which has the same name. Usage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These light presets are saved as a scene subset and can be imported and used as ligting for already finished scenes. They can also be used as a starting point for a beatiful and creative studio lighting. Each of the studio lights is targeted towards its own null object, when rotating this null object you can change the position of the light, keeping its orientation to the center of the scene. Moving the null object will move the light as well. The lights and shadows of each preset are set up according to the color scheme. If you want to get a brighter light, you can increase the intensity of some of the studio lights. Also, the color of the light which they emit can be changed as well. In order to get deeper shadows you an increase the intensity of the shadows which the studio lights generate. To increase the colorization of the whole scene you can increase the intensity or the color of the simple occlusion from the render settings. To get a brighter or darker scene you can change the gain in the render settings. The bottom lights do not produce shadows. They are set to "diffusion only". If necessary, you can turn on the shadows to achieve a more dramatic atmosphere. The bottom lights should not generate strong shadows because it can look weird. The side lights are parented to the "Bottom" light. When rotating the "Bottom" light this will rotate the side lights as well. The color of the bottom lights is set according to the color scheme of the scene. If you are using as a background a picture with intense color, it is advisable to adjust the color of the bottom lights to the color of the picture. NOTE: Since the bottom lights are distant their position is not important, only their direction. NOTE: This is not a photo-realistic render. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TECHNICAL SUPPORT : Tested in Daz Studio.
