************************************************************ *Product Name: The Pit *Copyright December 2012 *By: Andrus63 ************************************************************ The Pit contains a hole in the dungeon floor into which prisoners can be lowered or dropped, plus a variety of useful elements to make the Pit more versatile. The Pit is designed to work with our Dungeon Cellkit 2, but can be used independently. -------------------------------------- System Requirements: PC and Mac compatable Poser 6+ Daz Studio -------------------------------------- Ownership Statement: All of this product's content was created by Andrus63 -------------------------------------- Installation Instructions: To install, open the zip file. Drop the "runtime” folder into your Poser or Daz Studio directory, and the files should install in their proper places. You can find the contents of this product under: Libraries/Character/Andrus63/Cellkit2/ThePit Libraries/Props/Andrus63/Cellkit2/ThePit Libraries/Materials/Andrus63/Cellkit2/ThePit Libraries/Pose/Andrus63/Cellkit2/ThePit and Libraries/Scene/Andrus63/cellkit2/CellkitwithPit If you already have the Cellkit2 set then you may get warnings during installation about over-writing files. This is because there are duplicate files to ensure that both sets can operate independently. Simply allow the files to overwrite and both sets will work fine. -------------------------------------- Usage Tips or Limitations: The preload scenes are sets, like a film or TV studio, not complete chambers. There are walls missing to make it easier to locate cameras and lights. If you want complete chambers, it is easy to load an extra wall or element as you desire. Poses. These poses are designed to work with the DAZ 3D figures Michael 4 and Victoria 4; they do work with other figures, but will require adjustment. We always advise that you turn inverse kinematics and limits off, as otherwise poses will not all work. We have not hidden dials or set limits. We find it irritating and annoying when dials are hidden – most 3D artists use a degree of imagination when constructing sets and scenes, and having those dials enables creative use of the props. If you want a door to be ripped off its hinges, you can! The textures are optimised for Poser; the set has not been tested in Daz Studio. We know of no reason why it would not work, but textures may need to be tweaked. Thoughts and suggestions: Loading the scenes from the scene library in P9/Poser Pro 2012 – use the single tick at the foot of the library to replace the existing scene with the new scene. If you “add” the scene you will not have the right lights and cameras. Earlier versions of poser: just load the scenes from the file menu. Tiling versions of the main textures are included so that you can texture other props to match – in particular, if you want to use parts from our first Dungeon Cellkit with The Pit the tiling textures should make the two sets match. For the poses, set the body of the figure and the body of the crane to the same position, and then apply the poses. Extending the rope on the crane: there is a morph on the jib to do this. This can distort the texture, but we provide a tiling texture which can be applied from the material room to improve the look for close-ups. There are no go-to poses in the Pit set – the poses with the crane simply need the body of the crane and the body of the figure in the same place. If you want to rotate the jib, it is best to parent the figure to the jib first. The “in the pit” pose has the zeroed figure at ground level, and the non-zeroed figure at the default depth of the pit. The pit can be made deeper with the morph, which should not distort the texture significantly, but high values for the morph will affect the texture. The pit waterplane is textured to give decent water reflection and refraction. It is easy in the material room to change the colour of the water if you prefer to immerse your prisoners in some other substances. Altering the ambient colour will make the water glow. When using the padlock to secure the locking bar to the pit, you will need to extend the hasp to make it fit – there is a morph for this on the body. The pose for M4 holding the grill open is designed to work with the Grill Open 01 pose. There is also a matching pose to position the elements of the grill to go with the M4 opening grill pose. If you lengthen (or shorten) the rope on the crane, you will also need to alter the Y position of a dangling figure manually. There is no particular link between the wrist ropes and the crane rope – just position the rope between the wrists, and it will appear that the dangling character is attached to the crane. Have fun!
