Thank you for puchasing the TENTACLE KIT core pack "Cave of Horrors". SPECIAL NOTE: This package uses bump maps and displacement maps. It is recommended that you use the Firefly Render Engine in Poser 5 and above. This package should work in DazStudio, however, you might need to adjust some material settings to work properly in DazStudio. Known Issues with DazStudio: Ambient lit material zones (glow in the dark stuff) will need to be adjusted. Bump and displacement maps may need to be adjusted. To extract the contents of this zip file, use a zip extraction program such as winzip. -Make sure the "use folder names" option is checked. -Extract to the location of your poser*.exe file For example, if you have Curious Lab's Poser 5, you would extract the files to: C:/program files/curious labs/Poser 5 -Do not include the folder "runtime" in your extraction path, this is already included in the zip files path location Once installed the library content will be installed to the following folders: Character/Figure Library: TENTACLE KIT / CORE PACK Materials Library: TENTACLE KIT / BUMP MAP or DISPACE MAP The TENTACLE KIT is comprised of 3 different packages. The "Core Pack" contains the cave, egg pods, some slurms/worms, hanging sacks, Vore pits and slime pit. Two additional Tentacle Packs are also available, sold separately. Core Pack: Note: EZP = EasyPose version Cave: This is a figure comprised of a floor, front wall, back wall, left and right ceiling/side walls. Each wall can be moved, hidden or adjusted. The floor and back wall have a large and small pit morph for creating a hole, or if used in reverse, a mound/extrusion. There is a parented water surface plane that sits under the floor. If you use the pit morph in the floor, you can adjust the water level height. There is a simple transparent texture on the water plane, you can create your own texture if you wish. The cave can be used for setting up the vore pits, hanging the sacks from the ceiling, slurm attacks, etc. The additional tentacle packs can be used to put into the openings in the sacks, egg sacks and vorep pits. Slurms A-D: These are posable cave dwelling slimy worms, bugs, whatever you need them for. Three of them have ambient lit material zones for glow in the dark scenes to attract your victims like candy to a kid. There is a standard pose and easypose version of each slurm. You can put the slurms into the openings on the vore pits, egg sacks, hanging sacks, etc. Hanging Sacks: There are 2 hanging sacks (or you can turn them right side up) with openings to place slurms or tentacles in. The openings have morphs to open and close them. There are additional bending morphs for interesting shapes. Pods: These are simple figures with open and closing morphs on the tips of the pods. You can place nasty items in the pods like the slurms or tentacles. You can scale up a pod large enough to engulf or devour a human figure. Some of the pods have bending morphs a well as open and close morphs. Slime Pit: This is a slimy looking blob that sits on the floor. There are openings on the pit that open and close with morphs. There is an overall morph to open all the openings at once. Vore Pit: This is a toothy blob that has a large mouth opening that opens and closes as wall as smaller openings that have open and closing morphs. Place the vore pit in the center of the cave and use the caves small pit morph to create a pit in the floor to place the vore pit over. You can also place the vore on the ceiling or back wall of the cave. The back wall also has a large and small opening morph to place the vore pit over. Materials and textures: SPECIAL NOTE: The Firefly Render Engine in Poser 5 and above is recommended for propper useage of the bump and displacement maps. When using the firefly render engine, set the min. displacement bounds setting to .2 or higher. If you start to see black gaps in the surface of any of the elements of this package, either raise the displacement bounds setting higher (in the render settings options), or set the displacement amount lower in the materials editor for that material zone. This package has 2 material libraries, one is the bump map version, one is the displacement map version. If you are a novice, using the bump map version will probably work for you in most situations. There are 25 preset materials in the Materials Library called Tentacle Kit. You can use these textures for your Tentacle Kit items or you can use them on anything else you want. The textures are seamless tiling and have a matching bump/displacement map. Using a bump map or displacement map is up to you. In some instances, a mesh of a figure might start to show seams or cracks when using a displacement map, a bump map version will fix this. You can adjust the size of the texture and amount of bump/displacement in the materials editor. If you want to use your own textures and bump/displacement maps, you can use of the presets as a guide, simply swap out the source of the texture and bump map to another image. I hope you enjoy using the TENTACLE KIT. Be sure to also pick up the Tentacle Packs 1 & 2 Cheers, Davo questions: [email removed]
