Q: Is the project difficult to use? A: No. The only thing you need to pay attention to is to assign the Topping to the Garment rather than the model. Q: Why can't I assign the Topping to the model? A: You can - but this leads to misrepresentations, as the model and Topping have different weight maps. Q: Can I just use the Topping? A: Yes ... but you won't enjoy it. It will look like lumps of tar with white spots. Q: Can I use the clothing without stains? A: Yes, and this feature makes this project interesting for storytellers: start with the clothes without stains, use the "Pulled Up" garment for special scenes and end the story with a big load. Q: Can I combine different stain material presets? A: Unfortunately not. Q: Why are there Topping Props for the front and for the back? A: This is due to the way in which 3D materials are projected onto 3D surfaces (for experts: UV Seams). Without the division into front and rear view, the material would look very strange in certain cases (very strange!) Q: The garment sometimes produces poke throughs . What can I do? A: I describe two options below. See "Garments: handle poke throughs" Q: The Topping material is not displayed. What can I do? A: There can be two reasons for this: either you are using the wrong topping (i.e. you want to show the back but are using the topping for the front) or you have changed the offset of the clothing. In the first case, simply change the topping (or the camera angle) - in the second case, see below ("Topping: the Push modifier") Q: In texture mode, the spots are barely visible when positioning. Any hint? A: Switch to the Filament display mode and you can track the movement, scaling etc. in real time. Q: How can I move, scale, etc. the Topping material? Moving: Simply select the Topping, switch to the "Surfaces" pane and scroll down the list of options until you see "Horizontal offset" or "Vertical offset". If you change the values (slightly!), you will see how the liquids change their position on the body of the model. That's it :) Tipp: Select the desired material / preset before (!) you move it - otherwise (if you have found a great position and then change the material) the position will be reset. Scaling / Flipping: Select the Topping, switch to the "Surfaces" pane and scroll down the list of options until you see "Horizontal Tiles" or "Vertical Tiles". If you change the values to -1.00, the materials will be mirrored or flipped. You can also use the "Tiles" options to scale the materials. Smaller values enlarge the material, larger values reduce it ... and can also lead to doubling, as the changed value is a "Tile" option. Tipp: switch to the Filament display mode to track the movement, scaling etc. in real time. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SPECIAL HINTS +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ GARMENTS: HANDLE POKE THROUGHS Very tight-fitting clothing very often leads to poke thoughs with Genesis 9. This also applies to this project. You have two options for removing the PT: 1) Switch to the Parameters window -> Mesh Smoothing and increase the XXX to 3 or 4. At the same time, you can increase the value of "Weight". Use values between 92 - 98. "Weight" is a hidden option. If you do not see it, change the DAZ preferences to "Show Hidden". I used this method for the first promo picture where I gave the model a large bust size (which resulted in large poke throughs). You should always use this method first, as it has no influence on the Topping. 2) The garment objects have an activated "Push" modifier with which you can change the distance between the model and the garment. Switch to the "Paramters" pane -> Mesh Offset and carefully increase the value until the poke through disappear. However, this method has an effect on the display of the Topping object and should therefore only be used if the first method does not provide acceptable results. TOPPING: THE PUSH MODIFIER Like the garment objects, the topping props also have an activated "Push" modifier. You can use this "Push" modifier to remove interference, intersections or Iray artifacts. You can or must use this modifier even if you have removed poke throughs from the garment using the second option (see above). With the Topping Prop selected, switch to the "Paramters" pane -> Mesh Offset and carefully increase the value until the intersections / artefacts disappear - or the Topping is displayed again.
