1) What brought you into 3D?
I was motivated by the art I saw here and in blogs. I liked the idea, I thought I could try bringing my own spin to it.
Two series in particular made me take a shot. A blonde Elven warrior who was being held prisoner by a goblin on his throne by yourking, and the Black guardian by Vaesark.
2) How did you choose your nickname?
Gotta love the blues!
3) How long have you been creating your artwork?
I'm not really sure? I've never been much of an artist. I can't draw to save my life.
I remember starting out in 3D was about the time that Renderotica was shifting from an old format to the previous one. Is that five or six years, give or take? But I've been very on and off in that time.
4) Where do you draw your inspirations from?
From my own fantasies I think. Novels and comics, from movies too. Just from being out in the world. I think to myself, 'What would a naked femboy do now?'
There's a lot of slavery and impending slavery in my art, and I think that came from reading the Gorean chronicles.
But I think my main inspiration is other peoples' work here. Where would my fantasies creep in from if not what I'm looking at?
I do have a certain luxury in that I don't know many others who put femboys in the positions I do, so I see something, and think it'd be fun to mimic. A tweak and change here and there and before you know it, I've got something completely different.
I also get lots of inspiration from manga.
I guess I'm kind of a thief...
5) What are the specs of your render machine?
Pretty terrible I think. I use the free DAZ 3. I haven't switched to DAZ 4 yet. I've got too many morphs for M4, so if I can use them on Genesis, then I'd make the switch in a second.
My PC is a laptop I bought five years ago now. Too get around tough renders, it takes me up to ten or more goes, adding and subtracting various content and putting it all back together in Gimp.
Lol, even my picture editor is the free one!
6) What is your favorite work you’ve created?
I tend to be quite mercurial, so it's often whatever I'm making at the moment. I do keep coming back to two though.
7) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
I would love to draw, but am hopeless at it. The only boundary becomes imagination, whereas with 3D we are still dependent on content developers.
Plus, it is just great fun to render!
8) What are your plans for the future?
Rendering is a hobby for me. I don't have any plans to make this an income earner. I use the free software, and shop for content as cheap as I can, so I can keep it a hobby.
9) Who are your favorite artists other than yourself?
Waaay too many to think of. For many different reasons. Hitman's work is crazy good, how he gets those textures I'll never understand. Chimera, Vaesark, Minos, Aquatick, Kathryne, Darkway. All these artists put my work to shame. Plus there are numerous people with blogs making great stuff. I've dared to mention Vae, but don't wanna push my luck to much!
They all make me look like a rookie.
10) If someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
I'd say go for it. The learning curve is waaay shorter than you'd think. Your first couple of pictures will look pretty terrible. Mine did. But it won't take long until they are getting better. The pictures I make today use a really similar recipe to the ones I made after about a year of playing. The lighting is all virtually the same.
Look for little pieces of pictures you make and see what you like, then work around that until you get that first full picture you really like. Then I'm sorry to say it's all over for you. You'll be hooked forever!!
11) When developing poses what's been your most influential source for ideas?
I've dabbled only very briefly in animations. I don't really see myself trying them again.
Poses often begin with pre-made ones for me. I'll have the image in my head, and look through pose sets for one that's as close as I can get, and make it the way I want it.
As for influences. I like melodrama. A snuff series which has a femboy being strangled, yet still managing to arch his back and look sexy. I do like realism in poses, but not as much as I like cliché and over-acting.
Like the pictures in general, most poses come from fantasy. What do I think looks sexy...
12) Any hints on what your next project is going to include?
Two things. Both as slow as the other.
I have about 20 images in a gif series I'd like to finish with a Dark Elf and two humans. It has about another 15 or 20 images if I'm to finish it how I'd like it. So that is waaaay off yet.
The other is in response to a comment left for me. I made a picture of an elf looking into a pool of water, with some goblins bearing down on him. One comment asked why I don't make one with the elf and another elf. Why not have two beautiful elves? I'd never really considered it before. So I've been trying it out, and I must admit, it's not my forte. I tend towards slavery and corruption. But I am determined to have a picture of two sexy elves posted.
13) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
I work. For me, this is purely a hobby. I post because I have great fans, and like to think they are getting a kick out of my pictures.
I've no plans on doing commissions. I have tried a couple of collaborations, and I don't work well with others (Sorry guys, you know who you are.), so I just make things that I'd like to see, and hope my fans will like them too.
14) With all the recent advancements in 3D technology what excites you the most? What do you dread the most?
I'd love to see a content builder that's as easy to use as DAZ is. That would blow my mind!
Maybe the ability to use M4 morphs on Genesis, but that may already be possible, I'm not sure?
There's nothing I really dread. Maybe that the internet laws will change and I can't follow the community any more.
15) Speech time! Any final words you have for your fans and fellow 3D community?
Have fun making pictures, have fun looking at them!
