I've parented it to the tentacle, turned it on in Shaping but it doesn't show up in my renders.  Advice would be very welcome on what I'm doing wrong/forgetting to do.

Load it with Tentacle 2 selected and it should load in correct position and parented. If you load it with nothing selected it will be in zero position.

I followed those directions and it still doesn't appear. From the viewport I see a gray cube at the end of the tentacle but it doesn't appear in the render

Gray cubes mean that mesh is missing which happens if you don't install files correctly. Does the tentacle itself work correctly?

Ah! Thanks. Yes the tentacles work fine (i've posted images with them in the Gallery). I'll re-download and reinstall - see if that works better.

Before I delete and reinstall - your Data folder has 2 subfiles - DBXX and DB XX. it appears one has the info for the tentacles and the other for the precum. Is that how it's supposed to be?

That should not be a problem. I just retested it and it works.
You can try extracting the archive and adding it to Daz through "Content directory manager" without moving the files to your "My DAZ 3D Library" folder. Just add the "My Library" folder from the extracted archive.

Nope. Tentacles work fine, all the texture options for them work fine, can't get the precum to work.

I don't see the root folder of Realistic tentacle 2 in that screenshot. Is the first in it's hierarchy "My Library"?

You need to add "My Library" from "Realistic tentacle 2" archive as a content directory. Not it's sub-folders.

I very much appreciate the time you spent with me here. I've installed it exactly as you instructed, launched it from My Library and still get the gray block(s) for the drop. The rest works fine.

This sounds wrong to me. All my content is: DAZ Studio Formats/My Library/Figures/...
Have you tried adding it like this? Without "My 3rd Party Content" and with each "My Library" folder for every product.

I moved it as you suggested to DAZ Studio Formats/My Library and launched from there.  I still get the cube
